Welcome!Welcome to the Boston Hiking Club! We are a totally
informal group of people (mainly in our 20's and 30's) who just like to
enjoy the outdoors. We started because there really aren't any free
outdoor clubs in the Boston area. We have been active since August, 2004.
In the past few months, we've grown to over 1600 members, and now have
hikes or outdoor activities almost every weekend. Hikers of all levels are

Due to our recent growth spurt, we are managing our list
exclusively through the Yahoo Group. If you only want to receive e-mails
from the moderator, please choose that option when signing up, but you
will miss trip announcements posted by other members.

How do I sign up for a hike?Just keep an eye on the Yahoo group
for upcoming hikes. Usually, the hike organizer will start a hike database
on the yahoo group page, where you can sign up, organize rides, etc. If
you have questions, email the hike organizer. |
I have an idea for a hike. Now what?If you plan it, they will
come. We have enough members that you should have no trouble getting
people to come on your hike. Read the Planning your own
hike page, then send an email with your hike details to the yahoo
group. It helps if you set up a signup database on the yahoo group home
page as well. As the hike planner, you should provide people with
directions, and inform the group of any weather issues/cancellations.
